Location:
Qi Zong Village, Ta Cheng Town, Wei Xi County, Di Qing Tibetan Prefecture, Yunnan Province
Qizong is about 1900 meters above sea level. It is very close to the Jinsha River (Upper Yangtze), boasting lovely weather and convenient roads reaching the area. The distance to historic Lijiang is about 170 km, and about 107 km to the breathtaking Shangri-la area. The county seat of Wei Xi is some 96 km away.
* In October of 2006, we finished the first stage engineering of our school, including 6 dormitories for students (3.5m X 5m), one kitchen, bathroom, toilet, methane tank, impounded basin and enclosing wall.
We had gained donations from TSE Foundation & the Nature Conservancy Association to build solar energy & methane facilities and rebuild original toilet. Other expenses were all from donations of kind-hearted persons.
*In October of 2007, we built 5 classrooms and dormitories for teachers.
We gained donations of 3000 Eurodollar from CHILDREN FOR A BETER WORLD e.v. and other expenses were from individual donations.
*At present, we are raising money to build dormitories for 80 students and we are applying for donation of total budgets of RMB 199,873.31 Yuan.
There are many students enrolled last year having not gone to school and now there are more students applying
for enrollment.
All our students are residing in school and most of them are orphans and from mountain areas from hundreds to
more than one thousand kilometers away.
We hope we can build more dormitories for more students to make good use of our land. all expenses of
students including clothing, food, residence & transportation, medical and teaching during their studying in
school are shouldered by our school.
